Avrohom Prager is a visionary entrepreneur, philanthropist, and community leader whose determination, innovation, and leadership have left a lasting mark across multiple industries. Raised in Brooklyn, NY, as the middle child of seven siblings, Shaya’s life was profoundly shaped by the loss of his father, a respected rabbi, when he was just 15 years old. In business, Avrohom is recognized for spotting unique opportunities and transforming them into thriving enterprises. At 22, he founded a medical waste disposal company, which he later sold to Stericycle, a publicly traded industry leader. In 2010, he launched a landscaping company that has since become one of the 50 largest in the United States. He also built a successful ABA therapy company dedicated to supporting children with autism. Most notably, Avrohom founded Opal Holdings, a real estate investment firm with more than $5 billionin assets under management, which he strategically expanded through innovative deal structures in the office, retail, and hospitality sectors.
Beyond his business success, Avrohom is deeply devoted to philanthropy and community building. For decades, he has actively volunteered with Chai Lifeline, supporting children and families battling serious illness. In 2021, he founded Adirei HaTorah, an organization dedicated to supporting the students of Beth Medrash Govoha in Lakewood, NJ. Under his leadership, Adirei HaTorah has raised nearly $80 million annually and distributed over $200 million to strengthen Torah learning and build vital community infrastructure.
